Casey
Neurologist
Casey Vickstrom graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a
B.A. in Biological Sciences with Honors in 2014. He is a student in the Medical
Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where
he is currently a 3rd year medical student after completing his PhD in
Neuroscience in 2020. His PhD was focused on studying the neural circuits where
endocannabinoids act to regulate anxiety and depressive behavior in mice. He is
primarily interested in studying the mechanisms that contribute to neurological
disease, with the goal of discovering new therapeutic targets that may prevent
or treat these debilitating diseases. He has extensive experience tutoring
students studying for Step 1. He is expecting to pursue neurology or another
clinical specialty related to the neurosciences. In his free time, Casey enjoys
outdoor activities, including skiing and soccer, and hanging out with family,
friends, and his dog.
